Like many folks, I have more passwords than I care to, that also means
that I often type the wrong one when logging in (a few times). The old
auth system was far more forgiving of this, and since I type fairly
quickly, I seem to hit the new auth's system "Too many failed login
attempts, please try again later." frequently.
Can this be tweaked to be a little more forgiving like the old auth
system was?
You should get 3 attempts to log in before you are 'rate limited', then
a total of 6 failed attempts before you are locked out. Those are
adjustable. I'll do some analysis on the logs and figure out how often
this is happening and then we can adjust the parameters as necessary.
