Thanks for this feedback, this is the correct venue for your request.
For now, I've added a new left menu that includes the links you
mentioned and all the other subsite links.
I've removed the Subsites page that was a stop-gap for same problem
reported by others last week (thanks also to Andrew, for continuing to
comment).
Let me know what you think, this is a work in progress and we've been
iterating on the new navigation, so I appreciate your additional input.

It was just so convenient having the links on the front of
OpenSolaris.org. It was something I did not have to keep track of...
especially since I keep opensolaris.org up (in some fashion) all the
time now.
What is the proper venue for requesting the return of those links to
the home page?
