Hi again,
OK, thanks to The Great Alta, I've added styles to remove two of the
cages on the front page. I'm not sure how to remove the border around a
floatingbox() object, but I'm sure we can figure out a way to do it.
Thanks,
Michelle

Hi Dan,
Thanks for this feedback. The boxes are a result of wanting to
preserve the multi-column layout and also use XWiki markup exclusively
on the home page. I don't believe that XWiki supports borderless
tables. The alternative (that I know of, there could well be other
solutions I'm unaware of, Chris will know for sure) is to restructure
the page into a single column layout.

So the home page for the site seems to be growing an increasing
number of dark-bordered boxes-- an element which was specifically
designed out of the site when we built it originally.
The borders around body elements suggest disconnection, breaking
the page up into unrelated elements. The dark box around the
"Sun Sponsored Links" element is even darker then the other,
suggesting a semantic where there really is none.
Additionally, to the eye, the margins are all different, leading
to the page looking jumbled.
We should try to avoid what Edward Tufte has famously called
"grid prisons".
Surely there must be a cleaner way?
