IIRC with the latest fixes gcc is a dependency, so installing gem should silently ensure gcc is there so everything should just work (it's not the bad old pre-IPS days anymore, where a missing dependency meant you had to go hunting on the web to try to manually find and download what was missing ;-). -- Jyri J.
