Much agreed-- not sure what the right way to do this is-- perhaps the 
wiki on wikis.sun.com

specific to our environment, but it would still be useful to be 
documented.  If you agree, we can create a page there and I can set it 
up so you can edit it.

I think you're referring to PDO, not just ODBC, correct?  I've 
occasionally referred to this site: http://www.connectionstrings.com/
