AFAIK the project is that "-fast" is one giant ugly big monster and you
don't see what it does behind it's back and it changes between compiler
versions (see below for a solution) ...

Erm... simple solution: Just dismangle the "-fast" macro option and
replace it with the options it expands to (see cc(1) for a list) ...
problem solved (and see my warning about changing the floating-point
datatypes...) ... :-)
