Oops, change the

LD_PRELOAD=/path/to/interposer

in the envvars file to

LD_PRELOAD_32=/path/to/interposer

so that it applies only to 32-bit processes. That will allow the 
shell-invoked 64-bit binary to run without trying to load the 32-bit 
library.
