If you don't want to bother with updating the html, just update the .txt. When we build the next release, we need to make sure and update the html anyway.

Docutils from CVS is what Ian was using, and what I used as well. Although very likely slightly different versions... ;-(

When we discussed this before, I think we settled on grabbing a snapshot of the docutils package as a good way to insure consistency. We could always dump the snapshot when they release a new version if we wanted to. It is just that nobody has jumped up and done this yet.

Hi all,

I just wanted to check in a doc fix that was mentioned on
webware-discuss. As I Stuart found (in a thread from last January),
using the current release of docutils to generate the .html file from
the .txt file resulted in a very different .html than the one Ian
generated (Ian uses docutils CVS).

I agree that we should be moving towards removing the .html files from
CVS, but in the meantime, is it necessary for me to update the .html
file, or can I simply check in the fixed .txt file?
Ian, how are you invoking buildhtml.py? Are there any special config or command-line options you are using? I may just break down and grab
docutils from CVS. :)
