Hello list. I was thinking that it would be nice of us to make a debian package (.deb) of webware.
What steps would be required to get webware fully installed, and running on a debian box? Here's a starter list; please contribute. 0. check for required dependencies (python 2+) 1. uncompress webware.tar into the appropriate place (/usr/local/ ?) 2. run the install.py script in webware 3. change the application.config file appropriately 4. make a user 'webware' as per instructions on wiki 5. own the files in /usr/local/webware correctly 6. install /etc/init.d/webkit startup/shutdown files 7. update the other runlevel scripts 8. start the service I'm no debian developer, but I could probably be cajoled into researching and doing this if I had the help and support of the right folks here. In particular, I'd probably need help with the bash scripts that did much of the above. Another variable is getting it hooked into apache, if apache is there.
