Mandrake 9.0 doesn't have a python2, and only /usr/bin/python is mentioned in the FHS, where they state that it may be a symlink. http://www.pathname.com/fhs/2.2/fhs-4.5.html It's a pity that Redhat are shipping such an old version by default, presumably because newer versions break their scripts.
