Here are the minutes from our meeting on June 5th. I apologize for the delay and the brevity of these minutes. I was out of the office most of last week and am trying to catch up. :)
Roll Call: Ed Hafner, Larry Watkins, Brandi Wyatt, Vicki Pint, Corey Decker, John Lilleston Testing Issue from Issues Database: The group made some suggestions on the wording of our response to the issue. Larry Watkins felt that the wording should be toned down to indicate examples of what will happen when a payer requires validation/certification. Both Larry and Brandi suggested that we change the wording to say "If a payer requires a third party validation/certification, that negotiations need to take place between the payer and the trading partner as to what service is used and who shall pay for those services." This wording was changed in the agenda that I sent out earlier today. Shortly after our meeting, the author of the issue contacted me and asked that we leave the issue open until our next meeting because she would like more of the caveats addressed in our response. As a result, Marcallee Jackson should be on the next call to continue the discussion. Testing Survey Status: Ed Hafner indicated we are still waiting on Steering Committee approval. Sue sent this out for approval by the co-chairs however not all have responded yet. If we do not get response by Friday, we will assume they approve it. It will then go to the Steering Committee for an email vote as the next meeting of the Steering Committee is not until 6/27. Next Steps for SWG: The group discussed both ideas put before us. It was mentioned that an X12 group was taking on the whole issue of the 997/824/999/277U so the group decided we should steer away from that. The group agreed to move forward on the other idea concerning end to end testing and the specific entity type involved with it. Brandi Wyatt had sent John and Sue an outline. However, Brandi wanted to update it and then distribute to listserv. She indicated she would complete this and send it by 6/6. ____________________________________________ John D.
