I got the CC3000 driver running on Debian Buster in Python 2.7.16 and Python 3.7.3.
It did require changes to run on Python 3. I’ve sent a pull request that also includes a great deal of robustness enhancements to the CC3000 driver that I have been running (on two CC3000s) for many months.
