It was relatively painless to convert/upgrade my python code to 3.7. A few stumbles as the great internet has many wrong examples and "solutions". For instance trying to install pyehem - what worked is *sudo pip3 install ephem*
Same kind of issues with install the mosquitto and paho client - being sure that the solutions are valid for python 3 (google sure does like to "fix" spelling) I think that there will be a lot of work to update the docs and wiki for version 4 - probably can't get it done this year :) happy New Year.
