Working around packaging system norms by asking the use to run code
seems uncool to me.   A script to produce a config file seems ok.  But
moving things around means the package will fail checking if the
installed files are ok.  The point of read only is just that, and I
think we have to deal, not resist -- even if that's no my nature either ;_)
