When I go to the actual system.log in /var/log and run cat system.log | grep weewx it shows only what I have posted here.
This being OSX there must be something else going on. I took me ages to work out how to remedy the "No module named MySQL.db" error, which required this install: https://pypi.python.org/pypi/MySQL-python/1.2.5 This is above my pay grade but it seems more than likely the MySQL connector/services(?) for python in OSX 10.11 (El Cap) are missing something.
