Yes, the station had no batteries. I was also hoping it would work without having to reboot te pi.
I don't know if this makes any difference, but I have a WH-3080. This type suffers from the USB lockout but has one advantage: if you are quick in removing and puting back the USB cable, the memory is retained. The "lost" data are retrieved after this reset. It was a little confusing because the first time it did seem to work (I was there when it happened), but every other time it didn't manage to reset the station, although I could see in the logs that it was constantly trying.
