There are many things that can cause an "Errno 5" error. A few questions:
1. What kind of computer? A Raspberry Pi? 2. How is your VP2 connected to the computer? Serial connection? USB? 3. Check the tips in the Users Guide under *Davis CP2101 Converter Problems <http://weewx.com/docs/usersguide.htm#davis_cp2101_converter>*.
