And a third one standalone as a control on its own pi. https://shop.switchdoc.com/products/the-thunder-board-i2c-lightning-detector-grove-connectors If your's works most of the time then making the code change would be the easiest. Also note some of the I2C devices do not play well with other I2C devices. That is why I am using the thunder-click since it uses the SPI bus. I had to modify the python code to support SPI bus since all I found was I2C bus code.
