I've never tried it, but I don't see why search_list_extensions cannot
be overridden
in weewx.conf <http://www.weewx.com/docs/customizing.htm#How_options_work>
like any other option. So, using Belchertown as an example, you would want
[StdReport]
...
[[Belchertown]]
[[[CheetahGenerator]]]
search_list_extensions = user.belchertown.getData
