Now it looks like something else is already running on port 9001. Without trying to start mosquitto, see what you get with sudo netstat -anp | grep 9001 If you get something like “tcp 0 0 0.0.0.0:9001 0.0.0.0:* LISTEN 9676/something” then there’s another instance of <something> running on port 9001; that number right before the “/“ is the process ID.
If not, then undo the last change and see if the publishing at least works again, because obviously I don’t know what I’m talking about.
