BOM says it happened at "3.10pm AEDT on Saturday" (15:10 24hour) which I put at 15th Jan 04:10 UTC So it didn't register here until approx 4 hours later judging by the attached TonganEruption.jpg TonganEruption2.jpg shows the hPa craziness over that 40 minute period. Hopefully I haven't screwed up the date maths - it is a tad late here!
