Davis archive records lack the degree resolution.  The Davis archive wind 
direction is the prevaling/dominant wind observed during the archive 
interval, and coded as follows :  0 = N,, 1 = NNE, 2 = NE, … 14 = NW, 15 = 
NNW, 255 =Dashed.

changing from hardware to software record generation, I've lost the "Signal 
Quality" value that used to appear in the Seasons skin. Time to re-read the 
Davis protocol manual to see if the answer is in there...
