el-api:jar:1.2 must be some mistake, or rather some exotic build of obscure origin.
I compared the API signatures and it seems version 1.2 is missing generics on all classes and two static methods on javax.el.ExpressionFactory (compared to 1.1).
So the dependencies are modified to match 1.1 version of EL.
