Clarkes of Tredegar operated the Blackwood to Ystrad Mynach Rail Linc contract for Caerphilly CBC, using a 56-plate Solo in two-tone green livery. After Clarkes, the contract was maintained for the first week by Community Transport operator Connect2, but is in now in the hands of Aberfan-based VR Travel. Who needs a Solo when you own a pair of former Stagecoach Alexander PS-bodied Volvo B10Ms ? On the first day of VR Travel operation, 103 (M427 RRN) is seen on Main Road, Maesycwmmer, heading for Ystrad Mynach, and still sporting East Yorkshire fleet livery. Wonderful machines.
