I can't remember if he stopped but he certainly slowed. Most of the photos I took show the drivers smiling and looking towards the camera. Some of them even moved in their seats so they weren't hidden by the pillar/mirror. However one First Coaches driver on a Nat Exp working actually stood up and hid behind the sunvisor/screen whilst still moving and trying to steer around the 90 degree corner.
