Another view of ARRIVA Buses Wales Leyland Olympian / Alexander 3987 - E227
WBG. This time the bus is pictured in Prestatyn working a Sunday afternoon
journey on route 1 to Pensarn via Rhyl. This bus came into the Welsh fleet
following the acquisition of MTL Merseybus by Arriva North West and after
initial allocation to Aberystwyth as a closed top came to North Wales about a
year later following conversion to an open top ready for the 2002 season.
Initially used at Llandudno Junction depot on Snowdon Sherpa S2 for a season
the bus then joined its sister 3984 at Rhyl and has been here ever since.
Mainly for use on open top route 1 the bus can surprisingly also be found on
normal service occasionally (as illustrated last week) and as its livery
suggests, promotional work at special events.
