Hi Simon

Long time no hear... hope you're ok! I travelled over to Pwllheli one
Saturday when these were brand new in service with the aim of catching
one on the 3, very excited at the prospect of going on a 'state of the
art low floor bus' (I was very naive back then). However on arrival in
Pwllheli I was distracted by SNL443 (YPL 443T) a B series ex London &
Country National on route 23 to Morfa Garreg so my Red Rover ticket
was put to good use on a couple of trips on this instead. I then
settled for Caelloi Step Dart N459 EEY on route 3 to Portnmadog
(jointly operated service with Crosville Wales as it still is today)
so it was to be a while longer before I eventually got to sample a
ride on SDC 521/2! In fact, if memory serves me correctly, they were
actually numbered LDC521/2 for a short while when brand new, the 'L'
denoting 'Low Floor'. I do remember how uninspiring the low floor
livery was though!

Kind Regards
Steve
