Back in the good old days when the terminus was in the centre of town, now
'improved' so you have to walk 1/2 mile!

Here's South Wales Transport's 1969 AEC Reliance / Marshall DP49F 978 (PWN
978H) in Brecon on 01/08/70. It was operating 'Limited Stop' service 28 to
Swansea.

Subject: End of an era, again.

For many years South Wales Transport ran the Swansea-Brecon service (with
Bristol VRs during the 1980s giving a wonderful view). Following deregulation
it passed through several companies until, last August, it ended up with South
Wales Transport again (Or First Cymru as
it's now known). This was only temporary however and here is 69239 MX56AFU
arriving in Brecon on 29th December, very near to the end of the contract.

The replacement service is (so I'm told) run by New Adventure Travel however in
a effort to promote bus travel the operator, the council and Traveline have all
agreed to keep the timings secret just to make things more exciting for
prospective travellers!
