Hi Sadly not i'm afraid although I dont drink alcohal anyway. Besides the bus had to get to Porthcawl quickly as it had to work teh 16:07 Porthcawl - Bridgend service 63B which I believe left Porthcawl about 8 minutes late at 16:15 although this was based on the time I saw the bus pass my house so it could have left Porthcawl later and made up the time along its route Not very often I praise First Cymru but on this occasion credit is due. thanks anthony

Did the driver treat you all to a drink in the Farmers before you left? Those of you who have ever driven along that road will know the hill is actually very steep. The problem seemed to be the gearbox since the bus started climbing the hill fine before having to slow down as there were two slow moving cement lorries in front of us and that is where the problem began. Because we had to slow down as the driver started to accelerate the bus started jerking and slowed to a snails pace before the engine finally cutt out. To praise the driver he did manage to get the bus to go again after switching off the engine and restarting it after about a minute or two and the bus managed to climb the hill with no problem until we got to Cefn Cross and then the bus started having trouble changing gears again although we managed to continue to the Farmers Arms where our driver it seemed had finally decided to admit defeat and telephoned whichever depot to say we had broken down. He had called the depot earlier while we were stopped on the hill to tekll them he was having problems but was going to try and see if the bus would go again. A replacement bus had been scrambled from the depot in Brynmenyn and arrived about 10 minutes after we had arrived in Cefn Cribwr about 8 minutes late. However as we were all boarding the replacement bus the following 15:30 service 63B had shown up which did cause a bit of confusion to some passengers further along the route in Kenfig Hill when two buses showed up with some wanting to go to Kenfig Pool/Mawdlam it seemed and some wanting South Cornelly. Overall I managed to get home about 15 minutes later than I planned but as I have just said First did responnd very quickly and the driver kept everyone informed apoligising for the delay. Here is the photo of CU53 AUV, Dennis Dart (Transbus Pointer) taken at the Farmers arms in Cefn Cribwr as we were all getting off the bus to board the Marshal bodied dart that was parked behind it.
