There's a really odd perspective at the back of the bus in that
photograph, Barrie - it makes the pedestrians look positively
Liliputian!

For those of us with longer memories, before Brewers, the Maesteg to
Parc Estate service was in the hands of Western Welsh and then
National Welsh. In 1980, when National Welsh introduced its Glan
Ogwr MAP Scheme and SWT introduced its Afanway MAP Scheme as co-
ordinated exercises, the Parc Estate service became a joint
operation. SWT operated two journeys per hour as Service 225,
interworking with Services 232 & 233 (Glyncorrwg / Blaengwynfi-
Cymmer-Maesteg) and National Welsh operated one journey per hour as
Service 235, which extended to and from Bridgend. This operated via
Llwydarth (thus omitting the low railway bridge in Garth) and
allowed National Welsh to use relatively new Bristol VR LR8005 (BUH
233V).
