Subject: Easyway CN53 ATO

Hi

Photographed today in the small villiage of "Ffordd-Y-Gyfraith" working on
service 73 Pyle Railway Station - Bridgend is Easyways, CN53 ATO which is a
Mercedes-Benz 709D although I am not sure of the bodywork.

This service has been operated in the past by Western Welsh, National Welsh, GM
Coaches, Brewers & Easyway. GM coaches still serves the area with some school
services to Cynffig Comprehensive which have been worked by a variety of
vehicles including Leyland Alanteans.

Of course the route is a shadow of what it once was especially when you compare
the current timetable to those those when it was operated by Western & National
welsh when the route at least 4-5 buses each way and served a number of the
various housing estates dotted around Pyle & Kenfig Hill which are not service
by First Cymru's service 63/63B Porthcawl - North Cornelly - Aberkenfig -
Bridgend.

Of course some of the roads which the service used to run along have been
closed when the opencast near Parc slip was opened although now that is closed
and work is soon to get underway to restore the area perhaps some of the roads
can be re-opened especially since there is a good tourist attraction nearby in
the form of Wrigglys funfarm (Similar to Folly farm in west wales)

thank you

anthony
