There still appears to be a 'cavalier' few whom take great delight in gesturing 
photographers for whatever reason and I would strongly recommend that these 
incidents are immediately reported to management, whom are normally very 
apologetic about these matters. In some cases they genuinely believe that their 
civil liberties are being violated and it is illegal to take pictures of them 
in a public place. 
 
In normal circumstances there isn't any law that says you can't take pictures 
in a 'public space', but be very wary where children are part and parcel of the 
picture.
