Yes, Hardphones use h263. More and more phones will
use h264 (visio interco with 3G or 4G mobile networks) Theora is a must have in
the middle-term but I have never seen a live demo of theora in a softphone. Does
anyone know of such a softphone. We’re also closely
looking at Dirac (http://dirac.sourceforge.net/)
which has the british BBC support. Jérôme De :

includes already theora since may 2005 , So on the gnomemeeting team the idea
has been submitted as well , but as only h261 works right now nad a new codec
is a lot of work to add , we need to deal with it .... 2005/12/14, pat cito <[EMAIL PROTECTED] >: On 12/14/05, michel

wengophone Why not use theora
instead? it's just as good as MPEG4 and patent free. Maybe we could create a
branch in SVN with ffmpeg2theora (http://www.v2v.cc/~j/ffmpeg2theora/)
instead of ffmpeg and compare the results. There are binaries for windows, mac
and linux.
