On Gentoo 2006.1 (up to date) amd64 (64bits distribution) I've tested
this versions of gcc :

BAD: gcc-4.1.1 [gcc (GCC) 4.1.1 (Gentoo 4.1.1-r3)]
BAD: gcc-4.1.0 [gcc-4.1.0 (GCC) 4.1.0 (Gentoo 4.1.0-r1)]
OK: gcc-3.4.6 [gcc-3.4.6 (GCC) 3.4.6 (Gentoo 3.4.6-r1, ssp-3.4.5-1.0,
pie-8.7.9)]

Thanks for the test case.

Do you think that the ticket #1199 is related to this problem ?

Regards.
