Follow-up Comment #3, patch #1100 (project wesnoth):

Ok, I think it's the final version now. I've redone it completely - instead
of superfluous (and seriously flawed) overlays removal/readding, they are now
simply marked to be invalidated at the beginning of each player's turn and the
original overlay drawing code has an extra conditional check, which manages
whether to draw an overlay or not, or leaves it to works normally if no
team_name is present.

Since, unlike the previous versions, this one doesn't alter the existing
overlay map, the whole thing saves and loads properly.
