Ehm, for the source tarball there are already "patches" (more like diffs).
And the source tarball is the only "real" official version we provide.
Regarding binaries:
* At least for the MacOSX packages patches are not easily possible.
+ For the Windows binary there once was some discussion about it, no idea
what the result of it was.
In general this is a clear case of "won't do" (unless the packager decides to
also create a patch). So if you want to have "patches" at the moment
everything available is a patch to the sources forcing you to compile
yourself (not trivial if you are on Windows).
