Follow-up Comment #2, bug #13639 (project wesnoth):
The problem still exists as of today (Wesnoth 1.9.3/Mac OS X 10.6.6). I could
reproduce it on two different Macbooks. This might be Mac OS X specific.
The crash occurs only when you have "Full Screen" OFF (unchecked) in
Preferences --> Display and choose the native screen resolution (e.g. max
resolution) in the "Change resolution" option Preferences --> Display.
As this is a CRASH, could you please set the priority of this bug to high? It
may affect only users on Mac OS X, but Wesnoth crashing in the first couple
of minutes is something to avoid as good as possible, I'd say.
A good workaround for this crash would be implementing Feature Request #17245
"It would be nice if the game resolution in fullscreen would be the current
desktop resolution" or otherwise grouping the Full Screen and Change
resolution options closer together. In the current Preferences UI, "Full
screen" is at the top of the Display preferences Screen and "Change
resolution" is all the way at the bottom.
