Details:
If the troll guarding the entrance to the prison-room is generated with the
quick trait, it can (and will) ambush the rescuing units before the disguise
dialogue triggers.
Moving that troll away from the entrance would allow the big cavern reveal to
initiate the disguise sequence as well. Alternatively, the troll's max_moves
could be temporarily limited to prevent an ambush.
