Follow-up Comment #7, bug #25177 (project wesnoth):
I just did a Linux rebuild on current master (1d820b2f) and confirm the
loading screens appear to work normally on both start-up and campaign
loading.
I thought I was using an older libsdl2 but it appears I've been using 2.0.4
since the last distribution upgrade. So it may be that SDL is an issue.
libsdl2-image is at 2.0.1.
I also seem to be running KDE Plasma 5.6.5, but this doesn't appear to be
relevant.
