Hi Ndugu Boroa You have raised an important issue that, i think will address most of the issues related to the problems being discussed. A workshop which looks at the issues raised on poverty related interventions withing our communities could help the westnile team get detailed information, lessons, realities, best practices and negative effects of various interventions. The Public University issue can be incorporated in the same. The end result will be an appropriate strategies to develop the region or drive away poverty.
Thanks. A few days ago I made some remarks and shared a possible approach to moving forward and I thought we would be looking more in that direction. Once again for WNF to move from the Internet to the ground we should look at engaging stakeholders and developing a plan of intervention one of the easiest ways is by doing the following; 1. Summary of discussions Summary of the development challenges discussed on this list 2. Fund-raise from members A fund must be raised if activities are to be taken to the ground 3. Organize a stakeholders workshop (Round table workshop) The workshop will discuss all the problems raised above and how the can be classified and addressed in an organized manner, the output of this ws should be some draft work plan 4. Come up with a plan resulting from the feedback in the Workshop Finish the draft into a working document 5. Mandate the Coordinator to implement Brief the person to take over the plan. 6. Monitor and evaluate and improve This process is used to bring key players to the same page and work together to solve the existing problems such as health education, Better farming (other than tobacco), Entrepreneurship, Education and other development challenges; I am strongly inclined to believe that this is the way forward, so I hope I have caught your attention this time!
