Hi Titus, You are so right Titus, we can not rely on politicians. It is the time and efforts (as individuals who have come together) put into doing something about the issues that have affected us for a long time. It is more disheartening to know that, even after all these years of non-functional politician, our people are still not able to distinguish their (politicians) deceitful ways (as written by Mr. Anguzu). These are some of the reasons why I have joined this forum, not as an expert, but as an active learner. I may not attend those important conferences (due to my residing away from home), but the tips you have given as to how to find info and facts, are very vital to my learning process. Gone are the days when we used to quote “survival for the fittest”, because as a region – working together is the key to achieving developmental goals.
Yes, I am motivated to begin participating due to the meaningful discussions on this forum towards developmental improvements in the land I hail from. Thanks again for the tips. You and my actions do! if you want to influence decisions and actions in your region or the nation, follow the development planning and budget formulation process and implementation. Attend budget conference and make your contribution. Read quarterly performance/implementation reports prepared by the districts and also final reports to council. These are public documents. When you identify any issues, you may go direct to the implementors or through some pressure group. Relying on politicians is a waste of energy!
