Subject: [Str8talk-Uganda] Does Africa still need foreign aid?

Is it still necessary that African countries should be given foreign aid when
their nationals living abroad are remitting such a large amount of cash back?
However, there is a negative side effect to this. One, governments in Africa
could begin to purposely instigate violence against their own people so that
they go overseas, seek employment, work and send money home. Secondly, it
encourages voluntary migration, those living at home seeing how much their
fellow countrymen/women are sending home and their families are prospering
could be inspired to leave too in search of greener pasture..in essence setting
off a full blown brain drain train in motion.

Comment :

"THE TRUTH BEHIND IS THAT AFRICANS DID NOT KNOW AND STILL DO NOT KNOW WHY THERE
WERE SUBJECTED AND STILL SUBJECTED TO INDEPENDENCES GIVEN TO THEM . JUST SEE
HOW THE SO CALLED NEW INDEPENDENT SOUTH SUDAN HAS COME ABOUT TO BE INDEPENDENT
. NO AFRICAN STANDS TO CRITISIZE POSITVELY / NEGATIVELY THAT .

THE ONLY I KNOW OF AFRICAN PEOPLE ARE THE LADOANS ( FROM LADO ) WHO STILL STAND
STRONG ON THEIR ISSUE OF INDEPENDENCE IN AFRICA . CLOSELY FOLLOWING AND IN A
TRUE POLITICAL FEATURES OF THE METHODS AND PROCEDURES OF DECOLONISING A STATE
------ A LESSON TO LEARN FROM THEM REALLY !!"

NAIROBI (Reuters) - Kenyans abroad sent home $106.2 million in March, the
highest monthly amount since the central bank started releasing data on the
flows in 2006, and 48 percent up from the same month last year. Remittances are
one of the main sources of foreign exchange for east Africa's biggest economy
alongside tea, horticulture and tourism. The country got a record $891.1
million in remittances for the whole of last year. ...
