To the extent that ''groups'' and ''associations'' to administer strikes
(pre-planning) exist in our schools in this day and era (with representation
inter-school) is really deplorable...................
My take closely related to Elly's, its prudent such collections of rogues
should be quashed and dismissed with the contempt they deserve, strikes can
never be a  sustainable approach in solving problems of any magnitude.

This clearly explains some of the reasons for the dissmal academic performances
from our schools over the very recent years, its clear that students (may be
some) have misplaced their priorities.
I can not agree more with Elly, but only concur that this responsibility lies
in all of us, meet and talk to students in there individual capacities, in
there groups, in there well meaning associations, places of worship or in what
ever other relevant clusters, this might among other modes and methods be
usefull......otherwise this trend is worrying and as the adge goes ''the worst
might as well be yet to come''

Subject: [WestNileNet] WEST NILE STRIKERS ASSOCIATION

Friends,
We may not learn from our past but it is important that we learn from the
mistakes of others.
Strikes seldom help students save to worsen the already poor academic standards
in our region.
As you folks ponder over the loose students right movement, there is also what
is called West Nile Strikers Association. I am told the leaders are based in
some of the schools already that went on strike. I can't prove that this
association exists or not. But find out from students.
Friends, it time all of us should take serious interest in education in West
Nile. Please find time to meet students individually or in groups to find out
what they need in order to improve their conditions of learning.
May i challenge the different old students associations to come together and
discuss this with students leaders, teachers and heads in west Nile. We need an
education forum.
Save West Nile.
Elly
