--------------------
For those of you who haven't had the opportunity to study the Ugandan
Constitution (1995), let me first advise you to have a read when you
can.
In the meantime, I can tell you that the book contains paradoxes, and
in some instances, outright inconsistencies with itself.
Yours truly Hussein here, can literally see the original good
intentions it was made from, then all the selfish, egocentric
interests that have been added since then.
In some articles, even the language used sounds unbecoming of a national
constitution.
Therefore making it a substandard State document that definitely
requires re-editing and many clarifications that could save us from
stupid judgements on technical or linguistic grounds, rather than on
substantive matters of justice.
I was able to suggest 24 amendments and deletions for the upcoming
Constitutional amendment process in 2015, plus two new articles where
one suggests a Constitutional definition of marriage, and another
concerning the military.
But that wasn't all there was that needed to be changed.
Other concerned citizens and civil society organizations have
suggested other articles for amendment or repeal.
So at this juncture, and before the process actually starts in earnest
we need to ask; Are the results of this Constitutional review going to
be in favor of someone, or are they going to be for country and future
generations.
