HISTORY: How Obote Turned Into Joseph Kony.

It isn't a secret that the Lords Resistance Army (LRA) started as a fight
for continued Luo dominance in Uganda. The Luos are the ethnic group
covering Northern Uganda from Pakwach in the West Nile region, upto Teso in
Eastern Uganda via Acholi in Northern Uganda.
Joseph Kony was the last hope of a long standing sectarian Master Plan by
Apollo Milton Obote to control state power along ethnic lines. Following
the 1986 ovethrow of the Okello junta, the LRA rebel leader refused to
concede defeat and formed the Lords Resistance Army initially as a grouping
of defeated UNLA government soldiers.
The name "Lords Resistance Army" appears to be a futile attempt to woe
international christian support that had been easily mobilized before
because Amin was a Muslim.
But in order to build and maintain grassroots support within Kony's ethnic
group, the LRA employed the now famous terror tactics of mutilating those
who cooperated with the government.
That's how Joseph Kony brought immense suffering to the people of Acholi in
Northern Uganda where he himself hails from.
Kony simply didn't allowed his tribesmates to submit to the Museveni
government. Period.
The LRA is the last evidence of the ethnically inspired plans for dominance
of Uganda that Obote had tried to start implementing when in 1966, he
ordered the overthrow of President Kabaka Muteesa II, who at the time was
the biggest hurdle to Obote's Master Plan.
It's all the other soldiers from all the other parts of Uganda who put a
temporary caveat to that plan when they overthrew Obote in 1971 after
finding themselves under imminent threat of the secretely planned sectarian
purge.
However, Obote restarted it a decade later when he returned from exile in
1980.
But this time it is Museveni, a non-Muslim that they couldn't easily rally
western christians against, who went to the bush to fight him.
Had Amin committed the reported genocide against Luo's, there wouldn't be
an LRA to speak of.
So as we watch the trial of Joseph Kony's general Dominic Ongwen at the
ICC, a better understanding of the origins of the LRA will emerge from
court proceedings.
Most importantly, the tribal dimension will be exposed.
And if the ICC is able to trace the roots of the problem, the world might
then find out that the LRA is the dying kicks of Obote's 1960's Master Plan
for Luo ethnic dominance in Uganda.
It must be emphasized here that the vast Luo's were not part of the
sectarian plans and that's the reason why many lost their lives or became
IDP's as Joseph Kony's attacked them. They refused to align with the
sectarian plans of a handful of their own elites who have always used the
tribe card to further their own political careers.
Joseph Kony is the last one to do so. In fact his entire army, from himself
at the top, to the abducted children at the bottom, is strictly a sectarian
rebel group.
