After yesterdays events, I imagine more repression to come in the following
months with the scheduled consultative meetings, campaigns and actual
voting still to come.

It is clear that Thursdays police siege in Mbale and the police's
unnecessary ill treatment of political opponents, already influenced
election day 2016.

Ugandans are now INTIMIDATED.

1 - Police Operational procedure: Whatever is for their Sole candidate, can
happen. The rest must be quashed.

2 - Police's Strategy: Bend the rules in any way, to support the above.

That is called ELECTION RIGGING ALREADY.

All citizens (including religious leaders) need to stand up together
against this behaviour.

It isn't about this candidate or that candidate. It is about PEACE &
STABILITY for our country.

Aren't electoral processes the measure of political maturity?

According to our Constitution, "it shall be the duty of every citizen to
promote democracy and the rule of law."

Article 1 (3) also says: "All power and authority of government is derived
from the constitution which in turn derives its authority from the people."

The people as an entity are therefore first in authority, then the
Constitution, and lastly Government.

If the people decided to trash the constitution, it is their divine and
legal right.

What the people decide, will be.

Start relentlessly promoting democracy and the rule of law to this backward
governance, particularly to the Uganda Police Force.

Are you now an intimidated people?
