Dear Colleagues, as regards customs clearance I think some of these items might
be tax free e.g. the wheel chairs. An option worth pursuing is to engage with
relevant authorities if WAF could be extended a tax waiver on these items,
especially if WAF is a non-profit organization.

I see that WAF's goals, mission and programs are meant to benefit the general
community and these initiatives support the central government programs such as
livelihood and income generation, environmental, community health, etc. Once the
clearing issues have been resolved, you will need to obtain cost estimates of
shipping a twenty foot container from Kampala to Arua. I suggest that local
communities who will be the beneficiaries of this project should be mobilized
to contribute so that the necessary funds can be raised for transportation.

I think a twenty foot equivalent Unit (TEU) from Kampala to Arua would cost not
more than USD 1000,but you can double-check.
