I wonder how long it will take before the government of Uganda ministry of education stops this practice of parents and grandparents returning to elementary school to learn with their children / grand children: Shouldn't children be in class with their own age mates.(see Monitor Story below)
http://www.monitor.co.ug/Magazines/Full-Woman/In-class-at-45-to-learn-to-count-money/689842-3350382-t8n3n0z/index.html It is highly commendable that those who missed out on formal education in their early years return to acquire basic reading and writing skills. It happens all over the world. However, the practice in Uganda from time immemorial has been for the grown us, no matter how old / advanced they are in age, join elementary school. IMHO, parents and grandparents and any other grown ups should be encouraged to learn in adult schools which can be accommodated in churches, community centres OR should take evening and weekends classes if they have to use existing primary and secondary school facilities.
