To me it doesn't matter whether these things are true, because I'm not
a legal expert.  The point is, if it is the only way to allow the
people from Debian to distribute an SSL-enabled version of Wget, I'll
do it.

Thomas, you seem to understand SSL.  Would you be willing to convert
Wget to use GNU TLS?  That would obviate the need for the exception.
