hi, when I download a complete page which path contains a ~, wget converts this char to a %7E. Until now, this is no problem. But Wget does not change URLs in the HTML files. Those URLs still point to the path containing the ~.
Now the problem: on Windows, browsers do not find files any more. So either leave the ~ in file names, or change the URLs. my ~/.wgetrc contains: convert_links = on Version: GNU Wget 1.8.2 on cygwin btw. man page is missing a hint how to specify proxy settings on command line or environment. Jan ps. I know I have to upgrade my cygwin installation. ;-)
